Let me tell you about my shopping day. I was looking at my closet one day and I realised that I needed new clothes. I am a young woman after all! It is a must that I look good. It does wonders for my self-esteem.
Where I went shopping in Manchester
So where did I go? My favourite shopping spot is in the Northern Quarter so that is where I went. The streets are lined with all sorts of shops. I like the vintage clothes shops. It is just my style. I walked for a good part of the afternoon looking through various shops and trying out new clothes. In the end, I was able to buy a couple of tops and skirts. I also visited Debenhams department store for some essentials that I needed to add in my closet.
While I was walking, I found this quaint little shop with sells amazing accessories. I got a couple of bracelets for my myself and the girls. I also got my mom an amazing necklace. To think that I almost missed this shop! I have decided that this is my favourite spot here.
I also visited an art gallery – thinking about buying a piece to decorate my room. I haven’t really decided yet. Maybe I can come back to buy one when I have made my decision.
All in all, my shopping day was a huge success. I got the clothes that I needed and I was able to buy gifts for my mom and friends. I am thinking about being generous and just give it to them immediately. But then again, Christmas is around the corner. Maybe I will just give them the accessories then.
Best places to shop in Manchester
If you are looking for the best place to shop in Manchester, I have a couple of suggestions for you. Of course, it will depend on what you want to buy.
If you are looking to shop for fashionable items, you need to go to the City Centre or Trafford Centre. The latter is one of the biggest shopping areas in all of Manchester. If you want a one-stop-shop of everything, this is where you should go. The area is also as extravagant as it is large. There are classical sculptures, fountains, and even columned entrances. This place is open until 10 pm on weekdays so you have a lot of time in your hands to shop. There is free parking too. When it comes to options, you have three department stores that have all the apparel, accessories and what-not in it. The City-Centre is also a great place to go – with several buildings that will give you every opportunity to have the shopping day of your dreams. Among the places you should go to includes the Arndale Centre, House of Fraser, Afflecks Palace, and Selfridges. The King Street also has a couple of buildings that you can choose to shop into.
Food and produce
If you want to shop for food and produce, you want to go to Arndale Market. Here you will find fresh fish, meat, cheeses, and so much more. There are also a lot of food stalls and restaurants that offer Italian, Greek, Mexican, and even Jamaican cuisine. You can also visit Barbakan for some of the best delicatessen products in Manchester.
Consider all of these places when you are planning your shopping day in Manchester. Regardless of where you go, it is a guarantee that you will have a grand time.
